Responsibilities include environmental health and safety oversight for several long-term projects. Ms. D’Apolito provided training and support for several pharmaceutical firms in the areas of respiratory protection, laboratory safety and environmental monitoring. She oversaw the soil remediation for lead and arsenic contamination of a former apple orchard prior to new home construction. Sensitive issues including potential migration of contaminants off site to surrounding neighbors and cross contamination of site soils during the remediation process. She also provided environmental safety oversight during soil excavation in support of a new manufactured gas plant for a natural gas provider in Tom’s River, NJ. Contaminants included coal tar residues and PCBs. The major concern was to identify airborne contaminants, develop and conduct training, and oversee the transport and disposal of waster materials.
